Agent/Associate Bio Information:

I have more than 38 years of experience in the real estate industry, and during this time I have had the opportunity to know the Ocala, FL community both personally and professionally. Because of my ties within the community, much of business is based on referrals, proving that the friends and professional contacts I've made have been a benefit to my work.

I grew up in Miami, FL, riding and showing horses. I won numerous national championships in the hunter and equitation divisions as a junior and amateur rider. After graduating from Mount Vernon Jr. College and the University of Georgia, my love of horses brought me and my husband to Ocala in the late 1970s. My husband started Schatt Construction and has built many barns and homes on horse farms throughout Ocala, as well as high-end residential homes.

Giving back to the Ocala community is an important and fulfilling part of my life. Throughout the years, I have been involved with many local organizations, including Foster Care Review, The Family Visitation Center, United Way, The Salvation Army, Children's Home Society, The Junior League and Guardian ad Litem. Currently, I am on the boards of Kids Central, Inc.; Pace Center for Girls; and the Florida Horse Park.

My daughter, Havens Schatt, shares the same passions for horses that I have throughout my life. Havens is renowned for her riding and training capabilities. She trains hunters and jumpers as she splits her time between Lexington, KY, and Wellington, FL. My son, Ted Schatt, is an established attorney in Ocala, FL, and I have three grandchildren in Ocala.

In the end, I find working with my clients through the entire cycle of their real estate pursuits — from the beginning of the hunt to the day they call their own property “home” — to be exceptionally rewarding and fun. Most importantly, being a realtor has exposed me to many fantastic people over the three-and-a-half decades — some of whom have become long-lasting, invaluable friends.
